Winter! What can I say… it’s tricky this year! But, regardless of a warm or cold day, there’s still plenty you can do to stay active, motivated, and keep the Winter Blues away! Hiking in winter can be lots of fun, especially on these not so chilly days, and Blue Ridge offers some of the best hiking trails around. Head out to Fall Branch Falls. It’s a short hike with double waterfalls, and frozen falls are gorgeous! Plus, it’s only about a 30-minute hike roundtrip, so that you won’t be out in the cold too long!
Got plans for Valentine’s Day?? If not, you might want to make reservations at one of the many fine dining establishments that Blue Ridge has to offer. Don’t wait around though, Blue Ridge knows how to love, and many of our restaurants book up early for that special night. Or, maybe you want to have dinner at home by a cozy fire. Be sure to grab dessert or a dozen chocolate covered strawberries from The Sweet Shoppe.
Chili anyone? If you’ve never been to Downtown Blue Ridge’s annual Fire & Ice Chili Cook-Off, then don’t miss out this year! Mark your calendars for February 16, and head downtown as Blue Ridge closes off a portion of East Main Street and the City Park for live entertainment, award-winning chili, and incredible ice carvings! As a bonus, there will also be some “cool” carving demonstrations!
