Did you know Blue Ridge has a NEW Vineyard? Ahhh, Relax…Sip a glass of locally grown wine, enjoy the setting!

Bear Claw Vineyards, A new place to unwind…

Looking for that much needed girls afternoon out?  Or, what about that date night you seem to never get around to?  If you are coming to Blue Ridge, or if you’re a local looking for a little something different, head on over to the new vineyard in town!  Just a short meandering drive off of interstate Hwy 515, you will find Bear Claw Vineyards.  This has been a vineyard in the making since spring of 2015, when the first crops were planted, and it has just recently opened.

My girlfriends and I, being mom’s of busy kids who rarely get a break, decided to take the afternoon to check out this new establishment in our quaint little community.  I must say, I was totally impressed with how serene the setting was.  The winery and store had just the right combination of rustic and classy. It blends well with our mountainous town and sets the tone with a cozy charm.  We enjoyed sampling each of the wines available, which are all of the white variety for now.  Don’t worry though,  the red’s are coming in 2018…Perfection takes time!

We sat outside by the fire pit with an array of grapes, cheese, and chocolate platters.  Sipping wines and chatting while surrounded by layers of manicured grape vines…the evening couldn’t have been more relaxing!  And, if your not the type to just sit around, they have outdoor games such as corn hole and a yard sized Jenga.  They also welcomed us to walk the vineyards, but we had on heels and opted to sit and just enjoy the view.

Bear Claw Vineyards is also home to The Blue Ridge TreeHouse which was built by The TreeHouse Guys on their DIY network show.  How cool is that?  The TreeHouse is situated to the back of the property overlooking the vineyards and is available to rent.  You can make reservations through their website and relive your childhood! Talk about an amazing unique getaway!
